After three games on the road, Buckingham Charter is heading back home. They will take on the Sacramento Country Day Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Buckingham Charter suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, falling 71-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Buckingham Charter has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Sacramento Country Day struggled with assists on Thursday (Valley Christian had 17 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Sacramento Country Day was beaten by Valley Christian 89-32. Sacramento Country Day was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-18.
The match pitted two key players against one another: Parker Byers and Chase Clary. Clary had a great game and dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, Byers did his best for the losing side, scoring nine points along with two blocks.
Buckingham Charter bumped their record down to 4-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Sacramento Country Day, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Buckingham Charter, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-28 loss to Sacramento Country Day in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Buckingham Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
