Even though the Donahue Catholic Shamrocks have not done well against the Southwest Florida Christian King recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Donahue Catholic came out on top against Southwest Florida Christian by a score of 78-68. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Donahue Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Erling Berg out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. Berg is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. John McCabe was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Donahue Catholic's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Southwest Florida Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
Donahue Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Southwest Florida Christian will head out on the road to face off against Family Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
