Linganore (Frederick, Md.) on Saturday. The Cadets captured the lead for good when it ran for a touchdown.
The Cadets led 21-0 at halftime, but the Lancers recaptured the lead on a touchdown with 5:00 remaining in the fourth. Frederick finally took the lead for good as it ran for a touchdown with 2:00 to go in the fourth quarter.
FHS saw its 21-point halftime lead fall to 14 entering the fourth.
Alex Levine played well for the Cadets in the victory. The senior wide receiver caught one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which Linganore took, 49-0.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Frederick, which was coming off a 28-25 defeat at the hands of Middletown in its previous game. The defeat comes as a step back for Linganore, which notched a 28-6 victory over Oakdale in its previous outing.
In a Monocacy Valley - Piedmont game next week Linganore (2-3) takes on Tuscarora, and Frederick (4-1) will go up against Oakdale also in a Monocacy Valley - Piedmont game.
