This season hasn't been kind to the Goochland Bulldogs, who are still winless after their fourth match. They were dealt a 88-12 loss at the hands of Orange County on Friday. Goochland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-4.
Orange County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Mastin led the charge by scoring 20 points. That's the first time this season that Mastin scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Fayard, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Goochland bumped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Orange County, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goochland will face off against Monticello at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Monticello focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday. Orange County is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Charlottesville at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Charlottesville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
