Basketball Recap: Ness City Gets the Win

Ness City hadn't done well against Trego recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Ness City Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Trego Golden Eagles, sneaking past 24-21. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Emma Petersilie and Savannah Buller, who each put up six points.

Despite the defeat, Trego saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bailey Ziegler posted six points along with ten rebounds and five blocks. Those five blocks set a new season-high mark for Ziegler.

The win got Ness City back to even at 2-2. As for Trego, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Ness City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-19 defeat against Hodgeman County on the 17th. Trego will take on Decatur Community in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
