The Northwest Christian Wolverines will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Oakville Acorns at 5:45 p.m. Northwest Christian is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
Last Thursday, Northwest Christian came up short against the Wildcats and fell 55-46.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Dan Babber, who scored 20 points. That was a full 43.5% of Northwest Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Lanham, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Oakville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 72-57 victory over Taholah. 72 seems to be a good number for Oakville as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Northwest Christian has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Oakville, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Northwest Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Acorns in their previous meeting back in December of 2015, but they still walked away with a 52-47 win. Will Northwest Christian repeat their success, or do the Acorns have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
