Baseball Recap: Dunlap Wins Going Away Against Madison West

The Dunlap Eagles made easy work of the Madison West Regents on Saturday and carried off a 13-3 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Isaac Babbs looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Christian Ferrari was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Eli Michanicou was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Dunlap was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Dunlap has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Madison West, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Dunlap will welcome Pekin at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Madison West, they will square off against DeForest at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
