The Hilmar Yellowjackets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against Summerville by a score of 65-53. The win was a breath of fresh air for Hilmar as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Hilmar found their leader in underclassman Xavier Silveira, who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jason Moniz was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Hilmar's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Summerville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hilmar will square off against Waterford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Waterford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for Summerville, they will head out on the road to face off against Golden Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Golden Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Summerville in California (Golden Valley is ranked 357th, while Summerville is ranked 863rd).
