See why these 12 are considered the elite quarterbacks in the nation.It's called the Elite 11, the most renowned high school quarterback camp in the country for almost two decades.
On Monday, the 12 finalists who will participate in the finals at The Opening (June 28 to July 3) in Beaverton, Ore., were announced.
It's worth noting that 33 percent of the 12 gunslingers are just 3-star recruits according to
247Sports composite rankings. Also, California and Georgia each had three quarterbacks chosen from their respective states.
Here they are, in alphabetical order:
Cammon Cooper — Lehi (Utah)Size: 6-foot-4, 202 pounds
College commitment: Washington State

The 3-star lefty is the 14th-rated pro-style QB in the nation and a smooth operator with something to prove. Cooper posted a state-high 4,057 passing yards with 41 total touchdowns in leading the Pioneers to the Utah Class 5A state quarterfinals last fall.
Matt Corral — Long Beach Poly (Calif.)Size: 6-2, 196
College commitment: USC

The nation's No. 2 pro-style quarterback has all the tools. Corral threw for 3,025 yards and 22 touchdowns last fall at Oaks Christian (Westlake Village) before transferring to Southern California power Long Beach Poly. The USC commit will link up with 5-star receiver
Jalen Hall this year to form a lethal tandem.

Justin Fields — Harrison (Kennesaw, Ga.)Size: 6-3, 221
College commitment: Penn State

The country's top-rated dual-threat QB is an absolute nightmare for the opposition. Fields has a cannon and also utilizes his blazing 4.51 speed to torch defenses. The Penn State commit is the elite athlete of this group. He registered 2,253 passing yards, 977 rushing yards and 32 total touchdowns last fall.
Trevor Lawrence — Cartersville (Ga.)Size: 6-6, 196
College commitment: Clemson

Lawrence is tabbed as the top junior in the country for a reason. The Clemson commit has desired measurables and that "it" factor. Most importantly, he's a winner. The MaxPreps 2016 Junior Player of the Year led the Hurricanes to a 15-0 record and second straight AAAA Georgia state title by completing 250-of-406 passes for 3,904 yards and 51 scores last fall.

The 4-star signal-caller might have the highest football IQ of the group. The N.C. State commit racked up 3,688 passing yards, 51 total touchdowns and a 137 passer rating while guiding the undefeated Chargers to a New Jersey state crown last fall.

The nation's fourth-rated pro-style QB can sling it with the best of them. McKee possesses prototypical quarterback size, high upside and operates one of the most prolific offenses in the country. The MaxPreps second team All-American completed 73 percent of his passes for 3,522 yards and 36 TDs for the nation's No. 8 team (11-2). Stanford and Texas are the top two programs vying for his services.

The 3-star QB has a powerful, accurate arm. The nation's 15th-rated pro-style gunslinger posted 2,079 passing yards, 102 rushing yards and 29 total TDs in leading the Huskies to the Arizona Class 6A state quarterfinals last fall. Shough appears to be a lock for Michigan.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson — Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas)Size: 6-1, 195

The country's third-rated dual-threat QB is as dynamic as they come. The UCLA commit notched 837 total yards and 14 TDs last fall for the national champion Gaels. Thompson-Robinson has yet to start a varsity game at quarterback, but he has all the makings of becoming a superstar.
