Jefferson Area is 3-0 against Grand Valley since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Jefferson Area Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Grand Valley Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Grand Valley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Jefferson Area, who comes in off a win.
Jefferson Area gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They snuck past Lakeview with a 29-24 win.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jefferson Area to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mia Contenza, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennidie Rogers, who scored 9 points.
Meanwhile, Grand Valley suffered a rough 67-47 loss at the hands of Edgewood on Friday.
Jefferson Area's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Grand Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Jefferson Area was able to grind out a solid win over Grand Valley in their previous meeting back in February of 2021, winning 51-39. Does Jefferson Area have another victory up their sleeve, or will Grand Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
