They snuck past Peru with a 64-59 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Whitko's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sam Essegian, who scored 18 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Kyler Krull was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Whitko's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Peru, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitko won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against South Adams at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Peru, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
