It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Edgewater Eagles can now relate to. They took a 28-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fightin' Tigers. Edgewater's defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Edgewater still got an impressive performance from Sir Semaj Fleming, who rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Fleming was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.
Jones can attribute much of their success to Trever Jackson, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 22 yards and a touchdown.
Edgewater's loss dropped their record down to 11-1. As for Jones, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Edgewater does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jones will head out on the road to face off against Tampa Bay Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tampa Bay Tech will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
