On Tuesday, Bethel ended up a good deal behind Kelso and lost 69-54. While losing is never fun, Bethel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Kelso is ranked 31st).
Several Bison players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kemetrius Babbs, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and six blocks. The match was Babbs' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Reginald Carr was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Bethel bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Kelso, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Bethel will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Kelso will be home for the holidays to greet Emerald Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
