This week's postseason excitement didn't throw the rankings into complete disarray, but it did reorder the standings a decent amount. The action included a dizzyingly high 103-point combined score from Greer and York.
Welcome
Union County has been an offensive powerhouse for three straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. The final score between it and Indian Land was a 55 - 14 blowout in Union County's favor. The walkover was just business as usual for Union County, who now has six under its belt. Thanks to its success, Union County cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 23rd spot.
Can't Touch This
Greer got a 63 - 40 win over York last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Dre Williams. Williams ran for 327 yards and also punched in four touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Williams as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Byrnes and Sumter, 4th and 13th in the power rankings, respectively. Byrnes took its game by a score of 33 - 23. The win raised it up three spots in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Dorman (3rd in the power rankings) and T.L. Hanna (2nd). The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both Dorman and T.L. Hanna put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they play one another this week.
