Basketball Recap: Isaac David Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Show Low

Winslow's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 60-51 win over the Show Low Cougars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 71-68 back in January.

Winslow's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaac David led the charge by going 9 of 14 on his way to 23 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. David is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayden Curtis, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards.

David wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Winslow was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Show Low only racked up nine assists.

Show Low's loss came despite strong showings from Jayden Waite and Mason Bigos. Waite went 5 for 6 en route to 15 points, while Bigos went 6 of 11 on his way to 14 points. The dominant performance gave Waite a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Ellsworth, who posted six points.

Winslow is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Show Low, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

Coincidentally, Winslow and Show Low will both be playing Blue Ridge the next time they take the court. Show Low will head out to face Blue Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Winslow will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
