Neumann-Goretti is 9-1 against Cardinal O'Hara since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Neumann-Goretti Saints will head out on the road to take on the Cardinal O'Hara Lions at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Neumann-Goretti's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Neumann-Goretti can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They blew past Archbishop Wood 83-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Neumann-Goretti to victory, but perhaps none more so than Stephon Ashley-Wright, who scored 22 points along with six assists and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ashley-Wright has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Larenzo Jerkins, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cardinal O'Hara pushed their score all the way to 67 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Father Judge 73-67. Cardinal O'Hara has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Neumann-Goretti pushed their record up to 12-0 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cardinal O'Hara, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Neumann-Goretti won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, slipping by Cardinal O'Hara 61-60. Does Neumann-Goretti have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cardinal O'Hara turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
