The Roxboro Community Bulldogs entered their tilt with the Eno River Bobcats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Roxboro Community came out on top against Eno River by a score of 41-29 on Thursday. For Roxboro Community, this counts as revenge for the 38-32 loss Eno River walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Leading Roxboro Community to victory were Karrie Obie and Katherine-kaey "katie" Mann. Obie dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Mann scored 16 points along with three steals. Mann has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Kaylyn Pope was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Eno River lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Leiden Schofield, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Sadie Olson, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Roxboro Community pushed their record up to 8-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Eno River, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roxboro Community won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Oxford Prep at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Eno River, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Henderson Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th.
