The Central Indians waltzed into their matchup Saturday with four straight wins but they left with five. They greeted the New Year with with a 51-32 win over Rock Springs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Central also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Izzy Kelly continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with six assists and five rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Taylin Wade, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Central's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Rock Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central and Scottsbluff will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Scottsbluff will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Rock Springs' road trip will continue as they head out to face Laramie at 12:00 p.m. on January 13th.
