The Rock Hill Bearcats will head out on the road to challenge the Nation Ford Falcons at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Rock Hill is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Rock Hill narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Yellow Jackets 53-50. The win was all the more spectacular given Rock Hill's disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 28th).
Malik Ashe was nothing short of spectacular: he scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zacarious Mckinney, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Blythewood scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, Nation Ford still came out on top. Nation Ford walked away with a 66-57 victory over the Bengals.
Jackson Burnham continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points. Drew Robertson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Rock Hill's record now sits at 7-16. As for Nation Ford, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
Rock Hill came up short against the Falcons when the teams last played back in January, falling 56-52. Can Rock Hill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
