Everything went Cornerstone Christian Academy's way against Yavneh Academy on Thursday as Cornerstone Christian Academy made off with a 45-22 win. Cornerstone Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 23 points or more this season.
Jasmine Nordstrom was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Genna Welch, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Yavneh Academy still got an impressive performance from Daniela Hargrove, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds and two steals. Hargrove hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Cornerstone Christian Academy pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for Yavneh Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.
Cornerstone Christian Academy will head out on the road to square off against Bishop Gorman at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Bishop Gorman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 last Saturday. As for Yavneh Academy, they will be playing at home against North Dallas Adventist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. North Dallas Adventist Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
