The Deuel Cardinals will head out on the road to  challenge  the Sioux Valley Cossacks at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the  game red-hot, with Deuel sitting on  three straight  wins and Sioux Valley on five.
 Deuel will head into Tuesday's  match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big  last Monday (they won by ten) but  on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-5  victory over Flandreau.
 Meanwhile, Sioux Valley put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season  on Tuesday. They blew past Colman-Egan 13-5.
  Zaylee Lantgen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching five innings while giving up  four earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits. Lantgen has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings every time she's  pitched this season. Lantgen was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Abby Axtell was  incredible,  going 3-for-3 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and a  double. Another player making a difference was  Kassidy Smith, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 Deuel pushed their record up to 5-1 with that  win, which was their sixth straight  on the road dating back to last season. As for Sioux Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
