It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Houston Academy Raiders can now relate to. They took a 76-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (64), Houston Academy still had to take the loss.
Hillcrest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jermonte Stallworth out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists. Stallworth is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Simpson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Hillcrest's lineup was just a bit different on Saturday as Dorian Watson got a bit more time on the court (28 vs. his season average of 14.11). Watson made the most of the opportunity, scoring five points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
This is the second loss in a row for Houston Academy and nudges their season record down to 22-5. As for Hillcrest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season.
Houston Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hillcrest also has no future games currently scheduled.
