Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, a fact the Nebo Crossing Academy Bulldogs proved on Friday. They greeted the New Year with with a 43-26 victory over The Master's Academy. The win made it back-to-back wins for Nebo Crossing Academy.
Nebo Crossing Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Morgan Baker led the charge by scoring 13 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Baker has scored at least 25% of Nebo Crossing Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Grubbs, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zachary Gatlin, who scored four points along with five rebounds. Hunter Brown was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Nebo Crossing Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for The Master's Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Nebo Crossing Academy will be playing at home against University Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. University Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for The Master's Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Veritas Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
