The Gibson Southern Titans couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 69-49 walloping at the hands of Evansville Memorial on Tuesday. Gibson Southern has not had much luck with Evansville Memorial recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Gibson Southern still got an impressive performance from Brodey Lamb, who scored 25 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brody Riggs, who scored 9 points.
Evansville Memorial can attribute much of their success to Tucker Tornatta, who scored 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Ellspermann, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Gibson Southern's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Evansville Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Jasper the next time they take the court. Gibson Southern will head out to face Jasper at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Evansville Memorial will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th.
