After flying high against the Dayton Dust Devils last Saturday, the Wooster Colts came back down to earth. Wooster fell 58-51 to Churchill County on Wednesday. Wooster lost against Churchill County in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 62-47 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Wooster lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jared Marquicias. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamal Gaitor, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Wooster's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Churchill County, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wooster will take on Dayton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Dayton is ranked 56th, while Wooster is ranked 36th). As for Churchill County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sage Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sage Ridge comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
