In what's become a running theme this season, the Northampton County Jaguars gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They blew past North Edgecombe 67-36 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Northampton County sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Leading Northampton County to victory were Charlice Tyner and Michaela Hodge. Tyner dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Hodge dropped a double-double on 29 points and 17 rebounds. Hodge is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Lydia Deloatch was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Northampton County's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for North Edgecombe, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Northampton County will be playing in front of their home fans against Weldon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Edgecombe won't have much time to rest: their next game is against KIPP P at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. KIPP P comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
