This season hasn't been kind to the Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs, who are still winless after their 12th game. They were dealt a 64-36 defeat at the hands of Brethren on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Grand Traverse Academy has suffered since December 11, 2023.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlie Dennis, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dennis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Wilkins, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Grand Traverse Academy dropped their record down to 0-12 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Brethren, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grand Traverse Academy will take on Central Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central Lake is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Brethren, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Pentwater at 7:30 p.m. Pentwater is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
