The Edison Chargers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past Huron, posting a 35-7 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Edison, who have now won nine matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Edison was led to victory by Marcus Medina and Cyrus Finnen. Medina rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, while Finnen rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns. Medina was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.
Edison's win was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.6 points per game. As for Huron, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edison will take on Spencerville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spencerville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while Edison is ranked 78th). As for Huron, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Genoa Area at 7:00 p.m.
