Football Recap: The Classical Academy Piles Up the Points Against Florence + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Classical Academy walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 56-14 win over the Florence Huskies. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won seven matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

The Classical Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Schipfer, who rushed for 161 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Zach Mediavilla was in the mix as well, providing the Titans with two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: The Classical Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 288 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Florence only rushed for 118.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Hayden Gustafson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Florence lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ryan Robinson, who rushed for 69 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 52 yards.

The Classical Academy's record is now 10-0. As for Florence, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, The Classical Academy will be playing at home against Kent Denver at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Florence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
