The Marionville Comets put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 78-20 victory over Verona. Marionville might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four contests by 48 points or more this season.
Marionville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dally Pomeroy out in front who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Pomeroy is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Murphy, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals.
Marionville's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Verona, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Marionville will head out on the road to face off against Hurley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Verona, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Seneca at 6:00 p.m. Seneca comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
