The Ursuline Academy Lions had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Mercy McAuley by a score of 38-27 on Tuesday. For Ursuline Academy, this counts as revenge for the 45-38 defeat Mercy McAuley walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Mercy McAuley saw an underclassman step up: Ady Kreimer scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Kreimer's third in a row with at least ten points.
Ursuline Academy's victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-10. As for Mercy McAuley, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-10.
Ursuline Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Highlands at 11:30 a.m. on January 13th. Highlands will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Mercy McAuley will take on St. Ursula Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Ursula Academy and Mercy McAuley are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
