The James Kenan Tigers won against the South Lenoir Blue Devils last Thursday with 45 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. James Kenan strolled past South Lenoir with points to spare, taking the game 45-28. The win made it back-to-back wins for James Kenan.
James Kenan found their leader in underclassman Y'Anna Rivers, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Rivers hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. RonNyia Joyner was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Despite the loss, South Lenoir had strong showings from Katherine Thompson, who scored 12 points, and Gracie Tyndall, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
James Kenan pushed their record up to 6-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for South Lenoir, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
James Kenan will look to defend their home court on Thursday against East Duplin at 6:30 p.m. East Duplin will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. As for South Lenoir, they will head out on the road to face off against Kinston at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
