It was a good run, but the Glynn Academy Terrors unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Grovetown 49-44. Glynn Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Grovetown apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Friday.
Glynn Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aniyah Wright, who scored 14 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wright has scored all season. Harper Willis was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
Grovetown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kenna Middleton out in front who scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhianna Williams, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 21 rebounds.
Glynn Academy's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-10. As for Grovetown, their win bumped their record up to 9-14.
Glynn Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grovetown, they will square off against South Effingham at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Grovetown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday.
