The Bishop Hartley Hawks will be playing at home against the Philo Electrics at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bishop Hartley has four straight wins, Philo has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bishop Hartley stacked a fifth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past St. Charles, posting a 31-0 victory at home. Given Bishop Hartley's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 47th, while St. Charles is ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Robert Lathon got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 296 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.5 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Zang, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Philo lost to Maysville at home by a decisive 24-7 margin on Friday.
Bishop Hartley's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.5 points per game. As for Philo, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
