Softball Recap: Boswell Has No Trouble Against North Crowley

Boswell won the last time they faced North Crowley and things went their way on Monday too. The Boswell Pioneers put the hurt on the North Crowley Panthers with a sharp 11-1 victory. Considering the Pioneers have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Harley Malone tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dallas Rutter was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Audrey Tullis also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Boswell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Boswell has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. North Crowley is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13-1.

Coming up, Boswell will take on Weatherford at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boswell's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Weatherford's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for North Crowley, a feisty cat fight will be fought as North Crowley Panthers take on Mansfield Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. They have given up an average of 10.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
