Randolph-Henry has gone a perfect 3-0 against Tunstall recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Statesmen will square off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Randolph-Henry is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Prince Edward County on Thursday. The Statesmen put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 31-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Statesmen in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.
Kendall Snead made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Snead was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lindsay Locke, who fired off two home runs, five runs, and seven RBI while going 4-for-5. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Glenna Vereen, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and three RBI.
Randolph-Henry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Tunstall hadn't done well against Halifax County recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Comets. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.
The win was the third in a row for Tunstall, bringing their record up to 8-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Randolph-Henry, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-5.
Randolph-Henry came out on top in a nail-biter against Tunstall when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Will the Statesmen repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
