The Nandua Warriors had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-22 victory over Rappahannock. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Nandua also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nandua to victory, but perhaps none more so than JaQuan Thomas, who scored 8 points along with 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ny'Zir Dix, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Nandua's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Rappahannock, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nandua will challenge Norfolk Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Norfolk Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday. As for Rappahannock, they will head out on the road to face off against King & Queen Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
