The biggest upset of the week belonged to Webb, who took down 176th ranked Southern Vance, 21-14.
The Warriors moved up to 293 from 328 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Carolina. A 21-14 win over the Raiders helped Webb improve its standing.
Shawn Stankavage and Ben Grazen gave Cardinal Gibbons a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Stankavage threw for 288 yards and four touchdowns, while Grazen ran for 73 yards. Teammate Danny Schult added to the ground attack by rushing for 25 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Stankavage of the Crusaders is the league leader in passing yards this season with 962. He has also thrown 15 touchdowns. On the ground, Brian Currin's team's Tobiah Lewis has rushed for 576 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Dashawn Skipwith. The Webb star has 13 catches for 354 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Cardinal Gibbons takes on Southern Vance. At the moment, Steven Wright's team is in first, while Lewis Young's team is in fourth.
There should be lots of points scored when the Crusaders and the Raiders face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Cardinal Gibbons comes in having scored 232 this season, while Southern Vance has scored 139. The Crusaders scored 45 points last week as they topped Chapel Hill.
Cardinal Gibbons extended the longest winning streak in 3A Carolina this week by beating the Tigers, 45-14. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Crusaders.
