Chowchilla is 0-2 against Caruthers since November of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Chowchilla Tribe will be playing at home against the Caruthers Blue Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Chowchilla comes in on three and Caruthers on six.
Even though Minarets scored an imposing 31 points on Friday, Chowchilla still came out on top. Chowchilla took down Minarets 49-31.
Chowchilla's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dwayne Hemphill, who rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also picked up 104 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Dellvonta Vaughn, who rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.
Meanwhile, Caruthers blew past Yosemite, posting a 44-7 win on the road. The result was nothing new for Caruthers, who have now won six matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.
Hunter Babb continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 262 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 26 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Babb is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 6-2.
Chowchilla took a serious blow against Caruthers in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 49-12. Will Chowchilla have more luck at home instead of on the road?
