Richmond hasn't had much luck against Buckfield recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bobcats will square off against the Bucks at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Richmond proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by six) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Telstar, sneaking past 11-9. The win was familiar territory for the Bobcats, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Breonna Dufresne and Charlotte Crawson did most of the damage at the plate: Dufresne went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and four runs, while Crawson went 1-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Dufresne has posted since back in May of 2024. Samantha Leathers also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Richmond kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, while Buckfield put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Temple Academy. The Bucks put the hurt on the Bereans with a sharp 14-0 victory. The Bucks haven't had any issues with the Bereans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Sophie St.Pierre made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. St.Pierre was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Buckfield let Chloee Bennett and Cori Merrill run wild. Bennett went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Merrill went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Amelia Hill was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Buckfield pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Richmond, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Richmond has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .492. However, it's not like Buckfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .437. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Richmond suffered a grim 16-5 defeat to Buckfield when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
