Clayton and Salem are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Clayton Clippers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Salem Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Salem took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Clayton, who comes in off a win.
In what's become a running theme this season, Clayton gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Pitman as Clayton made off with a 53-31 win. The win was familiar territory for Clayton who now have three in a row.
Clayton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rainelle Blocker, who scored 13 points along with six steals. Blocker is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last ten games she's played. Jordyn Jones was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Salem was beaten by Kingsway 64-29 on Monday. Salem has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Clayton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. As for Salem, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Everything went Clayton's way against Salem in their previous matchup back in January as Clayton made off with a 63-38 win. Does Clayton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Salem turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
