Byron-Bergen is 0-3 against Williamson since April of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Bees will head out on the road to challenge the Marauders at 4:45 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Tuesday, Byron-Bergen needed a bit of extra time to put away Attica. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Blue Devils. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bees.

Martin McConnell was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Byron-Bergen: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 5-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
Byron-Bergen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Williamson entered their tilt with East Rochester on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bombers 3-1.
Caiden Watson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits.
At the plate, Williamson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey VanLare, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Williamson pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Byron-Bergen, their record now sits at 7-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Byron-Bergen has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Williamson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Byron-Bergen came up short against Williamson in their previous meeting back in May of 2019, falling 6-1. Can the Bees avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
