4A District 2 recap October 1, 2013
Glenpool moved up to 56 from 90 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A District 2. The Warriors climbed the ranks as a result of topping McLoud 21-12.
Harrah was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from eighth to sixth in the league. The Panthers vanquished Santa Fe South 69-0 earlier in the week.
Patrick McKaufman threw for 365 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 13-16 with 1 interception.
Tyler Gibson was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 150 yards on 25 carries as Mannford bested Tecumseh.
Leading 4A District 2 in both passing and receiving yards, the Trojans' McKaufman and Shaputis have proven to be a lethal combination. McKaufman has thrown for 822 yards this season, while Shaputis, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 14 catches for 304 yards. The Pirates' Gibson leads the league in rushing yards with 856.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Mannford takes on Douglass. Eddy Scott's team is currently in fifth, while Willis Alexander's team is in second.
The league will see a high scoring game when the Pirates and the Trojans face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Mannford comes in having scored 112 this season, while Douglass has scored 142. The Pirates scored 13 points last week as they lost to Ada.
Glenpool made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,884 from 4,481. The improvement was the result of a 21-12 victory over the Redskins last week.
