The Stone Mountain Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. They took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southwest DeKalb. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Stone Mountain of the 49-32 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Kelvin Peek, III was his usual excellent self, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and seven assists for Southwest DeKalb. Another player making a difference was Jackson Ushery, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Stone Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Southwest DeKalb, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stone Mountain and Hapeville Charter will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
