Basketball Recap: Jacqueline Kadel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Miami East over Legacy Christian Academy

Miami East played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 53-32 to the Legacy Christian Academy Knights. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while the Knights are ranked 44th).

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacqueline Kadel, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. Kadel has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mara Fine, who put up nine points.

Even though they lost, Miami East smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Miami East's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Legacy Christian Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Miami East will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Versailles at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-12 win against Emmanuel Christian Academy on the 19th.
