Basketball Recap: Central Jersey College Prep Comes Up Short

Central Jersey College Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 64-45 fall against the Shore Regional Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, Central Jersey College Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Shore Regional is ranked 52nd).

When it comes to explaining why Central Jersey College Prep lost, don't look at Carter Staton. Despite the final result, he went 10 of 25 en route to 28 points and seven rebounds. Those 28 points gave Staton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Fennel, who posted five points and 14 rebounds.

Central Jersey College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Shore Regional, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Central Jersey College Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 46-39 loss against Voorhees on the 23rd. As for Shore Regional, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-55 victory against Princeton on the 21st.
