AAA District 1 recap Oct. 16, 2012
Science Hill extended the longest winning streak in AAA District 1 this week by beating Volunteer, 49-7. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Hilltoppers.
Sullivan South was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Rebels triumphed over David Crockett 41-0.
David Crockett's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pioneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ryan Burger has thrown for 332 yards and one touchdown this season, while Devin Walker has eight catches for 207 yards. Jordan Turner leads the league in rushing with 332 yards.
A big matchup in AAA District 1 this week will be when Science Hill takes on Tennessee. Stacy Carter's team is in first place, while the Vikings are in fourth place.
