After a string of five wins, The Cupertino Pioneers''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. The match between Cupertino and South San Francisco wasn't particularly close, with Cupertino falling 25-6. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, Cupertino couldn't push the score so high this time.
Shen Hernandez-ong threw for 62 yards and a touchdown. James Xue was his top target, picking up 27 receiving yards.
South San Francisco got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Fields out in front who rushed for 220 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Fields was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Marcus Mercurio was another key contributor, rushing for 80 yards and two touchdowns.
Cupertino's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for South San Francisco, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.
