The Clearview Clippers will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Wellington Dukes at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Clearview came into Friday's match having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Oberlin by a score of 40-27 on Friday. The victory was just what Clearview needed coming off of a 63-19 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Wellington can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 52-20 win over Brookside at home. While fans of Wellington might be used to big wins, the 32-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Wellington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooke Lehmkuhl out in front who scored 13 points. Mackenzie Jerousek was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Clearview's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-13. As for Wellington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Clearview took a serious blow against the Dukes when the teams last played back in January, falling 55-28. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wellington's Gabby Miller, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 20 rebounds. Now that Clearview knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
