The Pine View Panthers entered their tilt with the Payson Lions with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pine View blew past Payson 75-53. That 75-53 margin sets a new team best for Pine View this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pine View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nash Schroeder, who scored 19 points along with six assists. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Schroeder has scored at least 25% of Pine View's points. Another player making a difference was Griffen Shepherd, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kamika Wesley, who scored 20 points. The matchup was Wesley's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Swasey, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Pine View pushed their record up to 6-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Payson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine View and Desert Hills will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Desert Hills' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. Payson will be home for the holidays to greet Juab at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
